Partnering and being responsible for bringing the Paul Soper & Son Roofing website to life from the ground up, transforming the business’s online presence into something modern, professional, and reflective of its strong family values. As a long-established family-run roofing company with no previous website, the project started with a completely blank slate. This gave me the opportunity to build a digital identity that not only represented the business accurately but also helped position it competitively within the local market.
I began by carrying out detailed research into other roofing companies and trade-based websites. This helped me understand common design trends, customer expectations, and the features that make similar businesses successful online. A key objective was to create a site that looked highly professional while also encouraging new customer enquiries. Many competitors either lacked visual polish or failed to communicate trust effectively, so I focused on combining both strong design and clear messaging.
For the design, I chose a modern and clean aesthetic that aligned with the company’s existing branding. I used a red, white, and black colour scheme, as these were already established across their social media platforms, ensuring consistency across all digital touchpoints. The layout was carefully structured to feel organised and easy to navigate, helping users quickly find key information such as services, contact details, and examples of previous work. I also made sure the design reflected the company’s identity as a friendly and reliable family business, rather than feeling overly corporate or impersonal.
In terms of development, I used Framer and its AI tools to build the site efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality and customisation. Starting from a template allowed me to speed up the initial process, but I adapted and refined it significantly to suit the business’s needs. I ensured the site was fully mobile responsive, recognising that a large portion of users would be visiting from their phones. This included optimising layouts, text sizes, and navigation for smaller screens to create a smooth user experience across all devices.
Although I did not encounter any major technical challenges during the build, I remained focused on refining the overall presentation and usability of the site. Attention to detail was important throughout, particularly in maintaining a consistent visual style and ensuring all sections worked together cohesively.
While the website has not yet been launched, the final result is a clean, polished, and professional platform that clearly represents Paul Soper & Son Roofing. I am particularly proud of how well the site communicates the business’s identity, showcasing not just their services but also the warmth and reliability that come with being a family-run company. The finished product successfully balances professionalism with personality, which was one of my main goals from the beginning.
